DJ - a common word used to describe God.

No other being at a party has the same command of the people. No-one else can make waves on the dancefloor.

Nobody, bar nobody, can make the human body move in such mysterious ways! But it's a skill having all that power and being able to channel it correctly.

It's all about whether to warm up the party-goers with a few simple visions (your boss demonstrating the moves for YMCA) or whether to go straight in for a full on miracle (your granny dancing to It's Raining Men).

It's a gift knowing how to communicate with the people too. Messages can be strong and clear ("get on your feet") or more open to interpretation ("this one's a classic").

Everyone's experience is different. Case studies talk of bright lights, strobe effects and even a personal call ("this one's for you").

There is no big book to refer to - unless karaoke is provided too.

That said, we do have the commandments, and whilst 1-10 are fairly important, it is no. 11 I draw your attention to:

Thou shalt dance.
